Outpatient Services

NOVA’s Outpatient Program – Clients receive specialized services designed to meet their individual needs which promote healing and lasting recovery. Services include individual and group counseling as well as an intensive substance abuse recovery program

Individual and group counseling – Clients receive support and tools they need to address anxiety, depression, trauma and other issues in order to improve the quality of their life and day-to-day functioning.

Intensive Outpatient Substance Abuse Recovery Program – NOVA, licensed by the Arizona Department of Health Services, offers a 36-hour intensive substance abuse outpatient program (meets three times weekly for four weeks – 12 overall sessions) as well as a 72-hour intensive program meeting over eight weeks.  Both programs assist clients in developing the necessary skills to abstain from alcohol or other drugs.

The program also provides education and support services to family members and significant others in order to stabilize the family unit and effectively integrate the individual into a supportive, community-based recovery environment.

Co-located Program – NOVA’s professionals provide assistance, support and education at three Valley clinics to behavioral health recipients with dual disorders. Services include providing education on substance abuse recovery, mental health symptoms and ways to help recipients develop the skills necessary to improve daily life.

Crisis Transition Navigator – A new program to Maricopa County, Crisis Transition Navigators assist individuals after a crisis situation.  Following a crisis, individuals are referred to providers countywide, including NOVA, to receive services from a peer who is knowledgeable about community resources and has firsthand experience regarding triumphing over similar challenges.  The CTN can then guide the individual to the programs and services they need.

Med Management - Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNP-BC) at NOVA provide psychiatric evaluations and ongoing med management services.  Psychiatric evaluations are scheduled for an hour and follow-up med checks for 30 minutes.  This gives us the time to assess and recommend appropriate treatment for persons who might benefit from medication as part of their treatment plan.

Only persons with AHCCCS may be enrolled in medication management services at NOVA.
